When replacing your stock alternator with the Powermaster High output alternator, it is recommended to change the main charge cable from the alternator to the Battery and also change the grounding cable from the alternator to the frame/block. When the vehicle is under a larger load than the factory setup, it is possible for the Powermaster high output alternator to supply more amperage than the charge and ground cable are rated to handle from the factory. This situation could result in possibly melting the insulation and wire or in extreme situations could cause a fire.
