Power Stop Drilled & Slotted Front Brake Rotor Set | AR85130XPR | 2009 Ford F150
Description
Pair of Uprated Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors
The front brake rotors of your 2009 F150 do most of the work when it comes to bringing your big, heavy truck to a stop right when you need it. Naturally, this means they tend to wear at a much faster rate than your rear brakes and need to be replaced far more often in order to ensure that your F150 actually stops when you need it. This pair of front drilled and slotted brake rotors from Power Stop are drop-in replacements for your truck's stock brake rotors and are a great way to squeeze some extra performance out of your F150's braking system while replacing your worn factory brake rotors. The rotors' drilled and slotted design improves your truck's stopping power and reduces brake fade during hard and sustained braking to help get your F150 stopping faster and more effectively than with stock blank rotors.
Reduce Fade and Improve Bite over Stock Blank Rotors
This pair of Power Stop front F150 brake rotors are the exact same diameter of your truck's factory rotors and fit both your truck's factory brake pads and rotors, as well as most aftermarket brake pads from both Power Stop and other major manufacturers. The rotors each feature a cross-drilled and slotted surface that improves their overall braking performance over your factory blank rotors. Each of the CNC drilled holes lead down into the rotors' internal vanes which carries heat away from the rotor's surface during braking to help keep fade minimal even during heavy and consistent braking. The slotted surface of each rotor acts as a cleaning agent and sweeps brake dust and other debris away from the contact surface for improved bite and power along with more consistent braking performance. These heavy-duty cast iron rotors come standard with a bright zinc dichromate finish for a great look and extra protection against corrosion.
Rotor Size:
Factory 12.99" replacement.
Power Stop Extreme Bedding Note:
The break in procedure is critical to brake performance. The reason for a proper break in is to establish an even layer of friction material deposited on the rotors from the brake pads. It is very important that this initial layer of friction material is evenly distributed. Break in the pads as follows: 5 moderate to aggressive stops from 40 mph down to 10 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool and do not come to a complete stop. Then do 5 moderate stops from 35 mph to 5 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool. You should expect to smell some resin as the brakes get hot. After this is complete, drive around for as long as possible without excessively heating the brakes and without coming to a complete stop (Try for about 5 minutes at moderate speed). This is the cooling stage. It allows the heated resin in the brake pads to cool and cure. After the brakes have cooled to standard operating temperature, you may use the brakes normally.
