Power Stop Z36 Front Towing Brake Kit | PWR-K4682-36 | 2007-2009 Ford Expedition
Description
Better All-Around Braking Performance For Towing
Your 2007 to 2009 Expedition's front brakes are "so-so" at best, but when it comes to towing or hauling heavy loads things can get pretty nerve-wracking. Avoid any potential problems on the road and upgrade your Ford Expedition to Power Stop's Z36 Extreme Truck & Tow Complete Brake Kit to make towing a breeze. This overhaul of your SUV's front wearable braking components includes new drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads that improve stopping power with reduced noise, dust, and wear. This front brake kit from Power Stop is the perfect solution for Expeditions that need a little extra boost in braking performance as it delivers up to 17% more stopping power than your stock system.
Improved Stopping Power with Carbon-Ceramic Pads
Power Stop Z36 carbon fiber-ceramic pads are some of their most popular pad options and are designed to improve braking performance without causing excess NVH, brake dust, or rotor wear. Power Stop manufactures these pads with a special carbon-ceramic friction compound that offers a huge improvement in stopping power over factory OE brake pads. The pads are built using a positive-molding process that leaves a level distribution of brake compound over their entire area for more even braking and wear. Power Stop thermal-scorches their high-performance Z36 carbon fiber-infused ceramic brake pads after production which reduces break-in time and gives them excellent performance right out of the box.
Rotor Size:
Factory front 13.78" replacements.
Power Stop Extreme Bedding Note:
The break in procedure is critical to brake performance. The reason for a proper break in is to establish an even layer of friction material deposited on the rotors from the brake pads. It is very important that this initial layer of friction material is evenly distributed. Break in the pads as follows: 5 moderate to aggressive stops from 40 mph down to 10 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool and do not come to a complete stop. Then do 5 moderate stops from 35 mph to 5 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool. You should expect to smell some resin as the brakes get hot. After this is complete, drive around for as long as possible without excessively heating the brakes and without coming to a complete stop (Try for about 5 minutes at moderate speed). This is the cooling stage. It allows the heated resin in the brake pads to cool and cure. After the brakes have cooled to standard operating temperature, you may use the brakes normally.
