Better All-Around Braking Performance For Towing
Your 2010 to 2014 F150's front brakes are "so-so" at best, and make towing and hauling an "interesting" if not completely nerve-wracking experience. Our friends over at Power Stop can help you out and make towing a breeze with no more panicked stops with this complete front brake upgrade kit. This overhaul of your truck's front wearable braking components includes new drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads that improve stopping power with reduced noise, dust, and wear. This front brake kit from Power Stop is the perfect solution for trucks that need a little extra boost in braking performance with almost no hassles.
Drilled and Slotted Rotors for Reduced Fade
The two drilled and slotted rotors that come in this package are constructed out of heavy-duty cast iron and features a zinc chromate finish for protection against corrosion. The rotors were carefully designed with cross-drilled holes on their surfaces that lead directly down into their internal directional vanes that allow for optimal heat dissipation to reduce fade under heavy and consistent braking. Power Stop's rotors also have machined slots on their surface that clear away dust and debris from the contact area for improved bite and more consistent operation. The specialized design of these rotors help reduce braking system temperatures by up to 180 degrees which helps improve braking by 17% when towing and hauling.
Improved Stopping Power with Ceramic Pads
Power Stop Z36 ceramic pads are some of their most popular pad options and are designed to improve braking performance without causing excess NVH, brake dust, or rotor wear. Power Stop manufactures these pads with a special carbon-ceramic friction compound that offers a huge improvement in stopping power over factory OE brake pads. The pads are built using a positive-molding process that leaves a level distribution of brake compound over their entire area for more even braking and wear. Power Stop thermal-scorches their high-performance Z36 carbon fiber-infused ceramic brake pads after production which reduces break-in time and gives them excellent performance right out of the box.
Rotor Size:
Factory front 13.78" replacements. This brake kit will only fit trucks with 6-lug hubs.
Power Stop Extreme Bedding Note:
The break in procedure is critical to brake performance. The reason for a proper break in is to establish an even layer of friction material deposited on the rotors from the brake pads. It is very important that this initial layer of friction material is evenly distributed. Break in the pads as follows: 5 moderate to aggressive stops from 40 mph down to 10 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool and do not come to a complete stop. Then do 5 moderate stops from 35 mph to 5 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool. You should expect to smell some resin as the brakes get hot. After this is complete, drive around for as long as possible without excessively heating the brakes and without coming to a complete stop (Try for about 5 minutes at moderate speed). This is the cooling stage. It allows the heated resin in the brake pads to cool and cure. After the brakes have cooled to standard operating temperature, you may use the brakes normally.
