Power Stop Z23 Brake Kit (Brembo Mustangs) | K4148 | 2011-2014 Ford Mustang
2012-2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302
Description
Complete Rotor & Pad Kit for Brembo Kits
Our friends over at Power Stop Extreme Performance know that finding a complete rotors and pads kit for Mustangs with the SVT Package can be a bear. That's why they developed yet another version of their complete Mustang brake kits for 2011 to 2014 Mustangs equipped with front Brembo brakes from the factory. Each of these kits contains four drilled and slotted rotors and a complete set of Z26 Street Warrior Ceramic Brake Pads that improve stopping power over your stock blank rotors and iron pads at a low cost.
Fade-Resistant Drilled & Slotted Rotors
The kit includes two 14" front rotors and brake pads specifically meant for Ford's Brembo brake systems and two standard rear rotors and sets of brake pads. Each of the four rotors rotors have CNC drilled holes and internal vanes that keeps them up to 180 degrees cooler than your factory blanks. Their slotted surfaces help clear away brake dust and ensure a clear contact area for your Mustang's brake pads. These rotors are highly resistant to brake fade and make for some of the best uprated factory replacements that you can find anywhere.
Includes Advanced Ceramic Brake Pads
Power Stop throws in a full set of their excellent Z26 Street Warrior Ceramic Brake Pads that feature a low-noise and low-dust friction material that provides greatly enhanced bite and stopping power over your stock brake pads. Power Stop Extreme Street Performance brake pads are made for high performance street drivers who demand shorter stops under the most demanding conditions. The Z26 brake torque is consistently higher than OE pads with outstanding thermal stability. Power Stop Extreme Performance pads are best suited for high horsepower Mustangs with big wheel upgrades. The Z26 friction compound is a carbon fiber and ceramic hybrid that resists fade to 1500 degrees.
Power Stop Extreme Bedding Note:
The break in procedure is critical to brake performance. The reason for a proper break in is to establish an even layer of friction material deposited on the rotors from the brake pads. It is very important that this initial layer of friction material is evenly distributed. Break in the pads as follows: 5 moderate to aggressive stops from 40 mph down to 10 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool and do not come to a complete stop. Then do 5 moderate stops from 35 mph to 5 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool. You should expect to smell some resin as the brakes get hot. After this is complete, drive around for as long as possible without excessively heating the brakes and without coming to a complete stop (Try for about 5 minutes at moderate speed). This is the cooling stage. It allows the heated resin in the brake pads to cool and cure. After the brakes have cooled to standard operating temperature, you may use the brakes normally.
