Description
Improved Stopping Power and Performance
The stock brakes on your F250 or F350 do a pretty decent job of bringing your heavy Super Duty truck to a stop, but only when you're not carrying a huge load and on pavement. For those of you with two wheel drive Super Dutys that need a bit more than what the factory rotors and brake pads have to offer, our friends over at Power Stop have put together this complete set of rotors and brake pads for your ABS-equipped F250 or F350. Each of these powerful brake upgrade kits features a full set of drilled and slotted brake rotors and ceramic pads for all four wheels that will greatly improve the stopping ability of your truck and really help you out when you're towing or driving with a loaded bed.
Drilled and Slotted Rotors
Each of the brake rotors included in this kit feature a drilled and slotted surface to maximize braking potential. The cross-drilled holes allow heat to escape into the rotor's vanes to help reduce fade under sustained and continuous braking. The slotted surface of the rotors moves brake dust and other debris away from the contact surface of the rotor to improve bite and braking feel. These rotors are an easy, bolt-on replacement for your stock rotors that are both less expensive than OEM and more powerful.
Full Set of Ceramic Pads
Power Stop's Super Duty brake kit is topped off with a full set of their high-performance Z23 Evolution Ceramic Brake Pads. These unique ceramic pads generate vastly improved stopping power over your stock pads without excess noise, brake dust, or rotor wear. Each Z23 pad drops right into your truck's stock calipers for a quick, hassle-free install and operation.
Rotor Size:
Factory rear 12.84" and front 13.03" replacements.
Power Stop Extreme Bedding Note:
The break in procedure is critical to brake performance. The reason for a proper break in is to establish an even layer of friction material deposited on the rotors from the brake pads. It is very important that this initial layer of friction material is evenly distributed. Break in the pads as follows: 5 moderate to aggressive stops from 40 mph down to 10 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool and do not come to a complete stop. Then do 5 moderate stops from 35 mph to 5 mph in rapid succession without letting the brakes cool. You should expect to smell some resin as the brakes get hot. After this is complete, drive around for as long as possible without excessively heating the brakes and without coming to a complete stop (Try for about 5 minutes at moderate speed). This is the cooling stage. It allows the heated resin in the brake pads to cool and cure. After the brakes have cooled to standard operating temperature, you may use the brakes normally.
