Description

The Hamilton Cams Head Gasket is designed for 6.7L engines, featuring a thickness of 0.046" and a wire diameter of 4.560". This gasket ensures a robust seal, essential for high-performance and competition builds, by accommodating the significant pressures associated with increased horsepower.

Features:

  • Standard Thickness: The .046" thickness provides a dependable seal for high-performance and competition builds.
  • Optimized Design: The gasket is compatible with radiused grooves machined to .019” in both the head and block or .039”-.040” for a single groove, enhancing performance for engines up to 800hp.
  • Durable Construction: Made from .105” wire, the gasket is designed to withstand the pressures of high boost levels and heavy use.
  • Essential Hardware: The use of head studs is mandatory for achieving the necessary clamp load, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

For high-performance applications, the Hamilton Cams Head Gasket is an essential component, offering superior sealing capabilities when installed with the appropriate machining and fasteners.

Please Note:
  • Precise machining for grooves in the block and head is essential. We recommend a radiused cutter for all installations.
  • It is imperative to verify that the head and block are flat to ensure proper sealing and to prevent gasket failure.

Installation:

  • Apply a generous amount of lubrication to the nuts, washers, and threads of the studs to ensure consistent clamp load across all studs, preventing uneven pressure on the gasket that could lead to failure.
  • Avoid exceeding the torque specifications provided by the manufacturer, as doing so can compromise the integrity of the fasteners.
  • For initial installation, torque the fasteners to approximately 130 ft/lb, and then bring the engine up to operating temperature.
  • After reaching operating temperature, perform a hot retorque to ensure all fasteners maintain proper tension.
  • It is advisable to check the valve lash after each torque sequence, as retorquing may compress the head gasket and affect valve clearances; always re-check the torque before operating the engine at full load or RPM.
