Description

S&B Tanks 65-gallon fuel tank directly replaces the OEM 36-gallon tank on your 2004-2010 Chevy/GMC Duramax Crew Cab / Long Bed model truck without any cutting, drilling, or special modifications, making installation a trouble-free and faster process.

NOTE: The fuel gauge will continue to work however the distance to empty will not be accurate. There is not a way to update the fuel tank size for the distance to empty to be accurate. The fuel gauge will remain on "F" for a bit longer because of the fuel above the float. The float's empty position in the S&B Tank is the same as the OEM tank. Since the bottom surface area on the S&B Tank is larger, the 68 Gallon tank with have a greater fuel reserve.

UPDATE: GM trucks monitor for an inoperative fuel gauge. When the truck thinks there is a problem it will drop the gauge to empty to get the driver’s attention. High capacity fuel tanks may cause the truck to think there is a problem because the fuel level sensor float arm moves slower than stock. If this happens, the gauge will return to its normal position after restarting the engine.
